Disability Policy and Special Education

The federal government plays a unique and crucial role in supporting the independence and productivity of Americans with disabilities. From the Americans with Disabilities Act - comprehensive anti-discrimination legislation enacted in 1990 - to Social Security disability payments, the federal role is complex and substantial. Policy areas that address people with disabilities include civil rights, employment, education, transportation, long-term supports, Medicaid, Medicare, income security, housing, homeland security and international affairs. The nation's federal special education law, the Individuals with Disabilities Act, is a 30-year-old cornerstone of the federal investment in disability policy.

Washington Partners, LLC has substantial expertise in disability policy, serving numerous clients who support people with disabilities in meeting their goals. By participating in disability coalitions and supporting the disability community, WPLLC blends its commitment to full participation for people with disabilities with its legislative and congressional expertise to assist clients in meeting their goals.
